time capsule: 1975
Stale, outdated and completely original 70s (even the behemoth microwave), the Albert's kitchen was ready for a new life. While in its heyday it was trendy and on point, having been designed by an interior designer who previously owned the house, it was time to say hello to the year 2015.
The Alberts approached me in hopes of rethinking the smaller kitchen and getting a bit more workable space while bringing it aesthetically up to date. By widening the opening to the adjacent dining room and knocking out the peninsula and extending the casework along the entire exterior, we were able to totally maximize the kitchen turning it into a wide galley style.
The built-in dining bench allowed us to further reduce the amount of floor space taken up by a traditional table and four chairs. Cherry shaker cabinets, beautiful granite tops with custom backsplash, new appliances and fixtures made this kitchen completely transform. And the clients love it.
