Picked up a new project about three weeks ago doing a master and guest bathroom on Puget Sound off the 101 Hwy. The project has been moving rather quickly - I've been working on drawings and finalizing the design, but my very eager client has already started to demo!! So, wrapping up the drawings this week while we get materials ordered and en route. We have a stone fabricator coming out early this coming week to look at the scope of work and get some estimates on labor and fabrication.
I'll post some photos soon!!
Another large, full scale remodel is a potential on the horizon, too. We shall see!
A bit behind in posting any project news and updates. So here's a quick note about what's currently going on at Hart Design Studio!
The Johnson project was put on hold due to family circumstances. We were able to wrap the master suite, I'm just on standby to come in and do some finishing details and photograph the space. The client is contemplating her next moves with the house, so we may or may not continue to develop additional plans in the near future.
The Venice Beach eDesign turned out beautifully. The client's items finally all arrived and she sent photos of the end result and it looks really wonderful. She was beyond pleased with her results. Head over to the portfolio page to see the final product!
I'm currently working on developing a small business proposal to team up with one of my go-to contractors; he has several pretty substantial projects lined up that would benefit from the help of an interior designer. Stay tuned for more.
The first month of the year FLEW by! We nearly have the master bedroom and bath completed at the Johnson home. All the remaining furniture and treatments have been ordered and we're about to install new floating shelves above the sunken tub and accessorize the remaining bathroom.
We are now seriously contemplating remodeling the kitchen rather than continue working into the rest of the main floor living area. I met with our contractor this past weekend and came up with a rough kitchen and casework layout, and now have all the supporting concept drawings to sit down and make a decision with her.
The Venice project wrapped a few weeks ago - they are just waiting for the last few items they ordered to arrive. Looking forward to seeing the finished photos!
More in the works. In the meantime, back to the drafting table.
The Johnson home is coming along great. The contractor installed a brand new ceiling light in the bedroom as well as converted the existing cans into dimmable LED cans. The painter is in this weekend finishing up the trim, doors and installing the wallpaper. We are meeting this morning to review our bedroom and bath punch list and then we can crank out the rest of the bedroom in the next week or two!
A few potential clients on the horizon too, just waiting to hear from and coordinate with some folks about setting up a preliminary meeting to discuss their needs and goals. Getting busy and it's awesome.
It's always amazing and crazy how fast the holidays come and go and then suddenly, bam! It's a new year!
2015 was a successful year for me professionally and I am so thankful to have had the amazing design opportunities I had over the year that has really pushed this company forward and things are starting to get busier, more consistent, and the projects bigger and more challenging! My design role at Starucks continues to blossom as well and I am grateful to have had my contract extended out until May allowing me additional time for a permanent role to present itself.
I'd like to also give a big congratulations to my client Shelley who also had a huge year in her career. She works in healthcare IT consulting and is pioneering the way IT solutions are handled in hospitals and other healthcare environments around the country. She was inducted into the American Hall of Fame for her work and had a two-story featured billboard with her picture on it in the center of Times Square in New York for two weeks, recognizing her efforts! Congratulations Shelley!!!
I'm wrapping up an eDesign for a Venice Beach home right now and have a couple new potential projects in the pipeline. I think 2016 is going to be the busiest and best year yet!
It's the holidays and we are quickly approaching Christmas. Cards to be made, presents to buy and wrap and many delightful treats to be baked. I will be posting several blogs about various holiday activities for you to all enjoy.
I will do my best to keep this updated as I craft and cook my way to Christmas, while taking on an exciting new project in Olympia. In the meantime, please be patient while our website gets a small remodel of it's own.
